Where exactly does it say HDMI is not continued? If in Settings > Display > if you have DVI selected and not HDMI/Auto-Detect you volition non get ANY sound through HDMI. Yous will take to take HDMI or Auto-Discover enabled to become audio from an HDMI connexion.

Solutions, without knowing more, I would suggest first making certain the display setting is set to Auto-detect if possible and HDMI if you lot take trouble doing that. Also, in HDMI Sound settings make sure HDMI sound is non disabled and is set to either stereo uncompressed or to a setting that your Television supports.

Next, if you lot can't practice that I would propose resetting your display settings to default:

1. If at that place's a disc in the Xbox I console, eject it.

two. On the panel, press and hold the Xbox button until it turns off and unplug information technology for 30 seconds and plug it dorsum in.

3. Press and hold both the Xbox button (power button) and the Eject button until you hear a beep to turn on the console.

4. You will hear i beep right away and a 2d beep 10 seconds later. The ability light will flash on before the second beep. DO Non LET GO until the second beep occurs. This resets the brandish settings to default and to 640x480 mode.

To reset this setting, go to Organisation > Settings in the guide, select Display & Sound, Video options, and and then Television receiver Resolution.

-----------------

And something else that may help if this is a software/dashboard problem would be a factory reset keeping games and apps:
Settings > Arrangement > Panel Info & Updates > Reset console > "keep games and apps".  (requires account redownload)

Hey there Greasemonkey!

Sorry to hear that you lot're dealing with audio issue.

If you've already tried all that troubleshooting steps posted, then I would suggest trying what we call a soft factory reset . It's a reset of your console back to factory settings but one that does non uninstall any of your games or apps and is a actually good troubleshooting stride for most issues.

Just brand sure that earlier you get ahead with it, that yous do know all of the sign-in information for any/all of your accounts (as they will be removed) and have like shooting fish in a barrel access to your cyberspace network .

Also make sure that yous select the option denoted reset and go along my games and apps.

Cheers

Hey in that location AMurray!

Hmmm....

Not as far as I know. The last one was from Dec.

Judging from the troubleshooting that you have already tried, it might be that your console is in need of repair. If that is the case, y'all can go a repair done by visiting our device back up portal or by contacting customer support .

The only other things I could recollect that may beneficially affect your state of affairs might be making certain that your console is connected direct into the wall outlet or trying some other TV. Sometimes if you accept your console connected to a ability strip or extension string, information technology could cause problems as Xboxes are ability hungry devices.

Hope this information was helpful.

Thank you for reading!

This problem occurred to me today as well. Information technology was working fine a couple days ago. The sound works fine a couple days agone and now in that location is no sound from my XB Ane at all. I tried the suggestions and nothings happens. I fifty-fifty did the Reset panel option (just with saved games) and it nevertheless has no audio.

One person suggested that the Xbox might be broken but i don't understand how. A couple days agone i played and it works fine. Today i turn it on, and no audio at all.  :(

Is it possible there was a new update and the no sound could exist a problems or something that is existence worked on?

(i don't know if this helps, just the TV sound worked fine for channels)

Also unrelated question,

Why do people have to create Microsoft accounts every time they create a new contour?
On XB360 you can create a contour in under a minute without needing to put down a account or needing to make a brand new one. You just retrieve of a name for yourself and then make a avatar and that's it. I have a XB360 and it has like 16 profiles because in that location easy to make.

Only on XB 1, y'all need to brand a Microsoft account. And that can be inconvenient when you want different profiles.

In gild for you to have more then 1 person playing on a XB one, (and to take games saved) you lot demand to create a Microsoft account for each profile.

Why?

Also unrelated question,

Why do people take to create Microsoft accounts every time they create a new profile?
On XB360 yous tin can create a profile in nether a minute without needing to put down a account or needing to make a make new one. You lot only call up of a name for yourself then brand a avatar and that's it. I have a XB360 and information technology has like sixteen profiles because there easy to make.

Just on XB 1, you need to make a Microsoft account. And that can be inconvenient when y'all want dissimilar profiles.

In order for y'all to accept more than so 1 person playing on a XB i, (and to have games saved) y'all need to create a Microsoft account for each profile.

Why?

As for the sound issue: Can you try to plug a headphone into your controller and enable sound through headphones in the "Display & Sound" settings on your panel?

Make sure y'all choose Stereo or Windows Sonic, simply not Dolby Atmos for headphones (unless yous have purchased the Dolby Atmos for headphones app).

Does the sound come out of the headphones?

Equally for your unrelated question:

The Xbox 1 was originally intended as an "always on" and connected console.

With an business relationship being stored "in the cloud" through the Microsoft account, you go certain benefits that are non possible with "offline" profiles like on the 360.

The Xbox One primarily saves your games online in the cloud, so yous can hands become from ane console to another, simply sign in and immediately have admission to your games and saves on whatever console you're currently signed in.

Additionally, setting age restrictions for online and privacy settings, or play time limits for children could easily exist circumvented, if these settings were just stored in a profile on a console.

The kid would simply get to a friend and play on a different console.

With the account being able to roam with the kid, the online and privacy settings are stored online, and are practical wherever the kid signs in.

Maybe if you explained your need for multiple profiles, we might help you better with alternative solutions?

(Sorry nigh bad spelling. Im just typing quickly)

I plugged in earbuds into the controller and all the same no audio.

Some other person replied on Janurary 4 (Amurry2) and said that the HDMI is not connected for them.

( Display and sound > Book > Fix upward Television set & A/V command )

It and so shows a HDMI, a USB and a AUDIO options. Under HDMI it says its not connected.

When I press it, it tells me that my HDMI cable should be plugged into the IN port ont he dorsum of the xbox. I practise that and so the pic dissipeares. I am switching through all the input settings on the television receiver controller and cant notice it at all. I put it dorsum into the HDMI Out input and I get the picture dorsum.

I have i person living with me and sometimes a friend comes over to play xbox. And sometimes other cousins or family members come to visit and if they want to play xbox, they would need a profile inorder to save there progress in a game. But I merely have two.

The HDMI In port is Merely for when yous want to attach a Telly Set Top box like a cablevision box or sattelite reciever, and so you tin seamlessly switch between watching Telly and playing a game.

If y'all don't intend to sentry TV through your Xbox, exercise not use HDMI in.

The Setup for TV and AV control is only there, if you desire to prepare up the infrared remote control commands to switch Tv channels and plough your Boob tube and AV surround reciever on and off.

If your visitors desire to salvage their game progress, they should create their ain Microsoft Account and apply that.

That's what I do with my nephews and nieces, when they come to visit. If they get a console for themselves subsequently they can and so proceed their saved games.

If saving progession is not an issue, they can sign in as guests to an existing account, and play as invitee.
